The 4 winning projects of the Best Practices Contest

Buenas Prácticas
As part of the 15th Sustainability Week, Energía Local is organizing the Best Practices Competition. This initiative aims to promote good practices in companies, as well as to reward and give visibility to CSR in the corporate world to inspire other companies.   Large companies, SMEs, entities and startups presented, over a period of time, their good practices and, after a first phase of online voting, the finalist initiatives were selected. These were:
  • Punto.tech, la tecnología para todas y todos – Altia
  • Departamento de Desarrollo Urbano Sostenible – Metrovacesa
  • Think Big Project – HBX Group
  • Regala paisaje: si regalas paisaje, regalas vida – Bridepalla
  • Compromiso con la familia corporativa que formamos – Odin Solution
  • Ecomond
  • Transparentes – Fundación Llorente & Cuenca
  • La Casa de los ODS – BB Kuna
All of them were submitted to the evaluation of the Jury and to a Competition Pitch held on November 13, in the context of the 15th Sustainability Week. Finally, the following 4 winners of the Best Practices Competition were selected.

Think Big Project – HBX Group

In the Large Company category, HBX Group’s project was one of the winners of the Best Practices Contest. Think Big Project is an initiative that focuses on avoiding over-tourism and the saturation of some cities such as Barcelona, Venice or Bali, while addressing the challenge of rural depopulation.   To this end, sustainable micro-destinations are created and tourism is used to disperse large population centers and enrich rural areas by increasing their GDP. This project began in Mexico, with the Mayan communities, and is currently being expanded to India and Indonesia.

Regala paisaje: si regalas paisaje, regalas vida – Bridepalla

The second winner of the Best Practices Contest, this time in the SME category, is Bridepalla, with its project Regala paisaje: si regalas paisaje, regalas vida. This consists of the expansion of biodiversity and environmental awareness through an innovative and original gift idea: giving landscape as a gift.  It proposes a sponsorship of square meters of forest area to create a positive sustainable impact. It is especially aimed at socially responsible companies that, through their gifts to stakeholders, want to make a positive contribution to the planet.

Transparentes – Fundación Llorente & Cuenca

As an entity, Fundación Llorente & Cuenca was proclaimed one of the winners of the Best Practices Contest with its Transparentes initiative.   Transparentes” aims to make the social and labor barriers of the transgender community in Spain visible in order to encourage their recruitment and inclusion, as well as to raise awareness among companies about the value of supporting diverse environments. To this end, 15 transparent chairs were artistically placed in front of an employment office. In addition, a group of trans people explained their real experiences with their name and the time they had been unemployed, fears, challenges and concerns.

Ecomond – Triple Impacto

Finally, the fourth winner of the Best Practices Contest, in the startup category, is Ecomond. This triple-impact startup contributes to curb the problem of plastic and its waste, and how these affect vulnerable groups.   As a solution, Ecomond proposes the creation of products with purpose and that go beyond the object itself. All the products they make are made in workshops with women in vulnerable situations to promote their reintegration and job opportunities. The result of this work is the Mochiluz backpacks, which contain solar lamps and are delivered to children in vulnerable communities.   At Energía Local we are pleased to have initiatives that promote a fair and sustainable purpose and we offer, once again, our congratulations to these purposeful projects that contribute positively to the planet.   On the other hand, we would also like to thank all the companies that have presented their Best Practices and their contribution to the expansion of corporate social responsibility in all areas.
